This church, built around 1880, has been abandoned for several years. Disused but not desecrated, it awaits better days which do not seem to be coming soon. Its neo-Gothic style architecture, neglected by time, makes it sublime, particularly inside. A colony of pigeons now lives there, which makes them the new owners of the place.
Between the dust, the vault and the decaying walls and even the pigeon droppings, we see that time has done its work here. And that's without counting the numerous comings and goings of urbexers and other curious people who passed here, broke things or took a few things along their way, at a time when it was easy to enter.
It was with wonder that we discovered this church, a building that I had dreamed of exploring for some time. Beyond its beautiful structure, it contains beautiful wooden furniture and certain unique elements to capture in photos. There is in particular this hanging blue cross of Christ, which also gives its nickname to the place, or the pulpit of truth overlooking the chairs.
As you go up to the bell tower, you stop halfway to look down at the symmetrical nave. Behind us, the organ no longer has its pipes. At the top of the tower, the bells are still in place. Will they ring again one day? Only the future will tell us.
Current state: abandoned
