The domain of Hofstade is a sports and recreational center located in the Flemish Brabant in Belgium. Spread over 160 hectares, the site includes 2 lakes surrounded by a large sandy beach, a playground, natural spaces and a few restaurants. Very popular in the 1920s, the site was closed during the Second World War then re-opened.
An open-air swimming pool was inaugurated in 1939, built by Charles Van Nueten. It is one of the largest of the time, with 100m by 50m and 1.6m deep. This pool was decommissioned around 1990 and has since been abandoned, while the rest of the center stays open to the public.
