Created in 1909, the Jadot smelter had its golden age during the 60s, with more than 300 people who worked there. After a first bankruptcy in October, 1991, the Jadot Frères company was quickly sold to Geap International, a group with indo-Arabic capital settled in Dubai. Specialized in the steel foundry (in particular the manufacturing of frog switches for the railway traffic), this foundry had no more than 60 workers during its second bankruptcy in June, 1997.
