The Varia Theater opened its doors in 1913 and was shut down in 1986. It is one of the few theaters also conceived for movies built during the First World War. Although its facade of Art-Nouveau style is classified and its interior very aesthetic, there are few possibilities of reconversion.

For 11 years, the exterior of the Varia Theater has been awaiting renovation, while its interior has today lost most of its decoration. However, the site remains well protected since its recovery by the Institute of the Wallon Patrimony (IPW).
