This empty and decayed building is the only vestige of the former "Triage-Lavoir des Hiercheuses" (Sorting-wash house of Hiercheuses), located near a coal tip with the same name. The term hiercheuse designated the female workers who pushed the trolleys to evacuate coal from the mines.
